It's Mom's special day and you want to repay her for all the good things she's done for you over the years. But besides buying her a big bouquet of flowers, what else can you do to please her on Mother's Day? Here are my recommendations for the top ways to entertain your Mom on her day.

1. Plan the Menu for the Day

Mom shouldn't have to think about anything other than how to amuse herself on Mother's Day. That means you need to give a little thought to what she enjoys eating, and what you are capable of preparing for her. Then go for it and surprise her with a tasty meal or two, or three - remember all the meals she cooks for you throughout the year!

2. Shop for the Groceries You Will Need

You wouldn't think of giving Mom the recipes to shop for the groceries for her Mother's Day meals, would you? I hope not! But, if you need a little help organizing the shopping list for yourself, you'll find useful tips in this article.

3. Straighten Things Up to Make Mom More Comfortable

Delicious meals, prepared and served with love, are a wonderful way to pamper Mom on her day. But if the house looks a mess, it will be difficult for her to relax and fully appreciate your efforts. That's why a little tidying up will help to set the stage for full relaxation.

4. Dress Up the Table

Remember to set an attractive table. That means using tableware that matches, including all necessary utensils, and remembering to set a napkin. Even if you've never used anything but your sleeve, Mom appreciates the purpose of napkins. Finally, a beautiful centerpiece, and it doesn't have to be large or expensive, will show Mom you've thought of every last detail.

5. If You REALLY Can't Cook, Take Her Out

If you don't have the time or the talent to cook for Mom, there's always the old standby - taking her out to a restaurant. Here are a few suggestions for making sure things are the way you'll want them to be when she arrives.

6. Shower Her with Chocolate

You didn't think I'd forget this critical ingredient, did you? There aren't too many moms I know who don't rank chocolate among their favorite indulgences. So unless Mom is on a very strict diet and doesn't want the temptation, be sure to add something chocolate to the day, whether it's a dessert or a box of her favorites.

7. Toast Her with Something Fun

Sparkling wines are perfect for springtime celebrations. If your Mom doesn't drink alcohol, toast her with whatever is her beverage of choice, whether it's a smoothie, iced tea, or a chocolate milkshake.
